I Do Work Sometimes

Sunday, January 30th, 2005

I’ve found the secret to working is to stay up into the early hours and work like it’s an essay due that morning !

This is another (almost) 1am update, because since my last post I’ve actually got a lot done. After sorting out my domain nameservers, uploading a heap of content, and creating a few new pages, I’ve made plans that detail what I have to do next.

Basically, I’m on track to get everything sorted out. Makes me a happy chappy indeed :)

1am Update

Sunday, January 30th, 2005

I posted this morning that I wished to get a lot of work done…

We what actually happened was that I went and had McDonalds for breakfast, had a coffee in town, and then I watched a few movies. Late this afternoon I finally got a small portal / free site up and submitted it to a heap of linkdumps, to test what sort of things do well on that traffic.

Basically I failed. Still, I have the rest of today (after I get some sleep) so maybe I can salvage something from the mess ?

WORK

Saturday, January 29th, 2005

Today Cleo left to play softball and won’t be back till sunday evening. That gives me two days without disturbance to get all my sites back online and earning money. Can it be done ? I suppose I’ll update here when it is !

Someone leave a sensible comment… I’d like to approve one to see how it works without being sad enough to do it myself.

What would you buy if you had 60 $5 notes ? My employer has a sense of humor, so my last pay was $300 in $5 notes. It makes quite an impressive wad of cash, and looks great in a bundle, but would look pretty silly if I tried to spend it.

Work is Over

Wednesday, January 26th, 2005

For this season anyway, which means I need to find a real job. Those who know me should know I’ve been picking cherries, and while it was a great job it only lasts for a few months. I’ve paid my overdue bills and a got a few hundred in the bank, so I’m pretty happy ! Soon I head back to study and looking for a real job.

Right now I’m thinking it might be time to make some money online, but that would require some dedication to work, and I’m not good with that sort of thing. Feel free to suggest some possible jobs I’d be good at :)

Procrastination

Monday, January 24th, 2005

If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s avoiding work. I’m more than just avoiding difficult tasks, I seem to have a persistant quality that makes me believe things will be fine if I do them the next day. One day they’ll discover a drug that cures it I hope, because I’m lost.

I have right now more than 2 dozen domain names with little or no design, and no content. That’s enough sites to be making me a full time living with a little work, yet I can’t get off my ass to finish them and promote them. What’s wrong with me ?
