Weekend Bliss

Saturday, April 30th, 2005

Some bliss anyway. I went out to my mothers and was treated to a homecooked meal, which I was really craving. You never really do realise how much you miss that kind of thing till you taste it though, then you almost wish you were still living at home.

My internet business is dying. I mean, it never really took off, but I’ve let it slide terribly. The wierd thing is, there’s still a few cents rolling in every day, and some sites have even increasedin traffic since I stopped tending to them. It’s time I rethought my approach obviously.

Anzac Day 2005

Monday, April 25th, 2005

It’s a day of remembrance, the day we give thanks to the thousands of brave Australians that gave their lives in the service of their country. All I’ve managed to do is get out of bed.

It’s made me think though, that not only am I lazy, I’m lazy by today’s very relaxed standards. I’m not sure I would have survived in a time where being this lazy would have meant no food on the table.

Sports Betting Woes

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

I posted last weekend that I made a few dollars on a sure tip – an english premiership match. I only bet $10, but it was a win, so I was happy. This week it seemed that everyone was tipping Port Adelaide to win last night,. so I put another $10 on them, and lost the bloody lot by a few points.

To save my pride I’ve put my remaining $5 (the winnings from last week) on Hawthorn in todays game. Word is that it’s about time the Roos lost one. If I win I can put money on another game – the odds are pretty good. If I lose of course, it’s about time to give up on sports betting :p

All Sorts

Just posting here to relive some frustration, as I’ve been outbid on two domain names. Ebay isn’t too bad these days, and I bid on netcrave.com which I was outbid on and lost while I was asleep last night. Ended at $36 USD and I probably would have bid a little higher for it ! I’ve just bid up to $21 for photoshoptools.com and someone is still higher than me so I’m about to give up. Not as nice a name as netcrave anyway.

I made a little money last weekend, I tried betting with gamebookers on a tip I recieved, and amazingly I won. I only came out $5 ahead, but it’s something. This weekend I’ll try betting on some AFL games to boost my balance a little further. I started with $10, I’m up to $15.70 already. Hopefully I can boost it higher every weekend till it’s worth withdrawing the cash.

In other news… Not much is happening. Classes are rocking along smoothly and I’m getting work done. Not all of it, but I’m not massively behind as usual. Hopefully I’ll pass this year ok :)

Broke but not Beaten

Monday, April 18th, 2005

I’m not getting any better with my post titles. Sorry about that, but there’s nothing I can do.

Anyhow, it was payday today, I get my student allowance. It’s supposed to last a fortnight, but of course it’s all gone. Overdue bills saw to that, seeing as it was that or lose my phone connection. It’s going to be a sad fortnight though, seing as I can’t even afford coffee :(

I’m going to withdraw the last of my funds from the internet but it won’t do much good either. There’s no where near enough food to last a fortnight, besides a few more bills that should probably be paid in the next few weeks.

I’m getting pretty sick of this existance, but it’s so difficult to find a job that can fit in with my study hours.
