Course Work

Sunday, June 19th, 2005

I’ve been converting the photoshop layout of my interface design project into it’s finsished state, a combination of xhtml, css and images. I think I’ve created what the teacher is looking for, though unfortunately I feel like I’ve comprimised too much to get there.

The final design uses a fixed size layout that sits comfortably in 800×600 but doesn’t look too silly in 1024×768 as I have it centered both vertically and horizontally. The content itself sits in an iframe, and it works wonderfully in both firefox and IE, something I expected to have problems with. I do wonder though, how many people would just rather a straight page they could scroll down rather than clicking constantly.

SttopidNews Transfer Complete

Took me a while to work out the bugs and finally move all the files over by hand, but I transferred everything to the new server. Now I just have to go through and weed out all the personal entries I made so it’s ready for the new owner.

It’s a relief to get it done, because I not only needed the money, but because now the site might get taken care of, something I wasn’t keeping up with.
